Are you waiting to be inspired?

I'm often described by my customers as a motivational and inspirational speaker.
You may think of these as words which are overused, especially within the professional speaking industry; but as a speaker my aim is not to give my audience a list of things that haven't done and should be doing, my aim it to leave them feeling that they have what it takes to make a difference in their given field of experience.
I don't believe that someone can be motivated to do something from an outside source, and definitely not against their will, I believe motivation is an energy you carry with in you, that very few people choose to exercise on a daily basis. I do believe however, that a person can inspire another - but is being inspired necessary for everyday life?
I believe it is!
The act of being inspired captures imagination, stirs the hearts and in many cases challenges the mind.
Feeling inspired can often come from watching a film, listening to a colleague or simply watching someone accomplish something against the odds. It comes in many forms.
When was the last time you felt inspired? Maybe you've been source of inspiration for somebody else.
From time to time it's necessary to find our own source of inspiration, these moments can be like beams of light that shine through moments of darkness. It's useful to take time to be still and meditate on the good things we've encountered, it helps us to keep a healthy perspective on life.
As I slept in my bed last night, I was so thankful for the softness of the sheets around me and the warmth of my bed. As the cold nights start to draw in, so many people will not have this luxury - this thought inspired me to offer some time to a local charity this Christmas to help those not as fortunate as myself.
Inspiration is necessary for life, it brightens the day, it puts a smile on your face and it's contagious. Inspiration points us in the right direction.
Will you be in inspiration today?
Keep stepping, keep smiling, replace your sighs with a song!
Have a good rest of the week!
